Fire Inside

Proverbs 1:23

In 2015 the cry for Ohio State's football team was that they had to ignite or they would never return to their 2014 National Championship form. They never did ignite and Alabama repeated as National Champion, beating Clemson. What do I do when I’m failing to ignite, cold to God’s voice, to His instructions, and to His guidance?

Jesus already knows what’s going on inside. So it’s foolish to not admit when my spirit is cooling, when my sarcasm flippantly mocks precious truth,  when my pride says I already know it all, or worse, when I’m complacent about where I am in my journey with Jesus. LORD, help me to respond to Lady Wisdom’s appeal.

“Turn around in response to my reprimand! If you will, I will certainly pour my spirit into your life. I will enable you to internalize my words.” - Proverbs 1:23

LORD, thank that Your Son tells me far more in John’s Gospel when He says that “whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; indeed, the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life. (John 4:14).
