Day 163
THE RAM
Abraham looked up and there in a thicket
he saw a ram caught by its horns.
He. . . sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
Genesis 22:13
FROM THE FATHER'S HEART
My child, I’ve always known My destiny. Throughout the Bible you will find the clues that lead you to My Father’s heart. I tested Abraham’s faith on the mountain that day, but I knew he would obey Me. Just as I didn’t require his son for a sacrifice, I do not require a physical sacrifice from you. There is nothing you can do to pay for your sins. I only want you to turn away from your sin and let Me be that ultimate sin sacrifice. I was that ram that God provided—just in time. I gave My life for you.
A GRATEFUL RESPONSE
When I read of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son, I realize it was a picture of You, Lord. You, the innocent ram, stepped in, not just to save Isaac’s life, but the lives of millions to follow — as many believers as there are stars in the sky or grains in the sand.
SIMPLE TRUTH
Faith does not look forward or backward; faith reaches upward.
