Which Tree? Friday, October 26th 2012
Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."
Have you ever sat and thought about how simple and straightforward salvation is? To be born again we simply choose and believe. There are many times where we must make a hard choice to believe and that is when our belief turns into real faith. God has done His part (by far the hardest part). He simply asks us to make our choice.
God won't force you to make the right decision. He allowed Judas to make the wrong election and He allowed Peter to make the right one; each after their own crisis of faith. Judas made the wrong decision. He chose to end his life by hanging from a tree.
It is interesting to note that Jesus made the same type of choice. Jesus chose to end His life by hanging on a tree. Judas could have known the Lord's forgiveness by believing in Jesus as his personal Savior. Judas could have dropped his burden by believing in the work of God, but he chose the wrong tree. Which tree will you chose? Your own tree or the tree of life, the cross of Jesus?
Life Lesson: The choices we make are important.
Thank You for Your free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Thank You that You love me so much that You allow me to make my own choice, yet pursue me as a loving Father desperately seeking his lost child. Your arms are open and I'm running to them, my Father. Home. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
