Guard Against Division - Wednesday, November 18th 2015
"And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in (who came in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage),"
Wherever Paul went, it seemed he dealt with troublemakers. These people were not simply hard to live with, they were teaching falsely. They preyed on the people who were already believers. They did not want to build upon Paul's biblical teaching. Instead, they wanted to tear it down.
The Bible is filled with real leaders and posers and haters. The angels who followed Lucifer were cast down, the people who rebelled with Korah suffered with him, the people who followed Absalom were killed along with him, and the family of Haman suffered with him. In other words, there is nothing good that come to rebellious people. God desires that we be mindful of them but be careful not to fellowship with them. If someone is willfully rebelling against the Lord, the church and biblical instruction, we need to guard our hearts against any influence they may have on us. This is for our good and God's glory.
Life Lesson: We are to be careful of divisive people and after warning them, avoid them.
Thank You for loving me. Thank You for leaders and teachers who can help me seek after You. Help me to cherish loyalty and to run from division. Guide my steps, and give me wisdom as I seek You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
