Except Jesus! Wednesday, November 11th 2015

Matthew 5:17

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill."
NKJV

Romans 3:21

"But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,"
NKJV

Life Lesson:
When the Bible speaks of the Law and the Prophets, it is speaking of the First Covenant found in the Old Testament.

Jesus fulfilled all the things which were written in the law and the prophets. Under the First Covenant people had to keep the law of God in order to be righteous and be accepted by Him. But no one, ever, can do it. Except Jesus! Jesus fulfilled the law by being without sin and He died in your place so that you could be forgiven. His righteousness before God is also your righteousness by faith in Jesus Christ. You must be righteous in order to go to heaven when you die. This is a free gift from God because He loves you. What a wonderful gift, friend. If you accept this gift you are in a new covenant with God. This Covenant is the blood of Jesus.

Read through the New Testament portion of your Bible every day and it will tell you about this new covenant and all the wonderful riches that are yours in Jesus.

Hebrews 9:15 "Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant." ESV

Dear God,
Thank You for loving me so much that You sent Jesus to die for my sins. Thank You for His righteousness. Help me to see myself as You see me and live like You call me to. Please give me a strong desire to read my Bible and give me fresh understanding of all that I am in Christ. In Jesus' name, amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
Pastor David McGee
