Becoming a Better Person
By Twyla Betha
And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.
– Ephesians 4:32 (Amplified Bible)
In times of reflection, most people’s goal is to be a better person. You may reflect on who you really are on the inside and who you want to be in the future. Overall, we all want to be better people, but how we decide we are going to achieve our goal of becoming better may vary. However, there are some ways that you can become better without putting in more work hours to make more money or spending money to buy an expensive gift for a loved one.
You can start today by being more like the person God wants you to be. You can be more helpful and kind. These changes can begin right at home with actions such as speaking only kind words and saying good things to your spouse. Not only will they feel better around you, you will more than likely getter a better response from them too.
Think about it. Who wouldn’t want to be around someone who is kind, helpful, encouraging, and understanding? I know I would! So be the type of person you want to be around and become a better person starting with something small that you can do right away. A kind word or gesture will go a long way.
