HEARTS TURNED

Read: Malachi 4

Key Verse: “He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.” - Malachi 4:6

How close of a relationship have you experienced with your father? Some fathers are caring, protective, prayerful, wise, generous, and dependable. Sadly, some dads are missing in action, distant, selfish, abusive, violent, and cruel. There is a wide range of fathers and faithfulness in their role. God wants a dad to walk closely with his children! He blesses a land where that is happening, but a nation that does not follow God’s instruction pays a steep price.

If your father has been disappointing, will you make a clear decision today to forgive him in Jesus’ name. Because of God’s forgiveness of your sins, extend the same forgiveness you have received to your dad! If your father has been outstanding, thank him and imitate him to the next generation in your family. If you are a dad, pursue your children. Tell them how much you love them! Spend time with them and do not take them for granted. God is pleased when a dad values his children, and children respect their father. God is our perfect heavenly Father, and can heal and fill the void of an earthly father who has been absent. Seek God today and know you have a Dad who loves you to he core!
