OUTPOURING

Read: Joel 2

Key Verse: “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.” - Joel 2:28

What difference does the Holy Spirit make in your life during the week? There is a command in Scripture (Ephesians 5:18) that we are to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Some Christians are unaware that God tells us to be filled every day. Other followers of Jesus are not sure how to be filled. It is as simple as: 1) Confess your sins 2) Fully yield to God 3) Ask to be filled 4) Believe that you have received the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13). How often do you pray through this sequence?

When God’s people become filled with God’s Spirit, incredible things begin to happen. There is an increase in love, joy, peace, kindness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). People are empowered to serve and use their gifts. There can also be visions, dreams, and miracles. People of all ages, races, economic background, maturity in Christ, and nations have access to the Holy Spirit. Stop trying to live on merely your own power. The engine of the Christian life is the Holy Spirit working through you. God wants you to be filled as you follow Jesus!
