JUST LIKE US

Read: James 5

Key Verse: “Elijah was a man just like us He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.” - James 5:17

Have you ever prayed about the weather? What was the result? Elijah was praying for the delay of rain, because he wanted everyone to know that the God of the Bible is the One who controls the world. It was a clear display of God’s sovereignty and how He hears our prayers. When Elijah later asked for rain, the waters came. Many people turned to the Lord.

Answers to prayer are not just about our comfort and desires. God does His greatest work to demonstrate His character and power which leads people to Him. The phrase ‘just like us’ is an encouragement for you to continue to boldly pray. When your heart is motivated by God’s glory and for people to know Him, God does remarkable works in response to our prayers! God does care about you, but He also wants you to ask Him to reveal Himself to your city and nation.
