BIG PICTURE

Read: 2 Timothy 4

Key Verse: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” - 2 Timothy 4:7

The apostle Paul writes this verse to Timothy at the end of his life. Paul is getting ready to transition to heaven and reflecting on his time on earth. There is a tone of victory, faithfulness, and perseverance in this statement. How many people can say this when they die? Yes, life can be a fierce fight and daily battle to live for God. Yes, you need to hold on to Jesus and guard your faith. Yes, you will invest yourself fully in order to run for God and complete the race.

Take a few minutes to consider these application questions:

  1. Are you running the race in the lane where God wants you?
  2. What does it look like to fight the good fight?
  3. What do you still need to accomplish for God before your life ends?
  4. Are you holding back in any ways or does God have all of you?
