OVERCOMING FEARS

Read: Psalm 27

Key Verse: “The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid?” - Psalm 27:1

When does fear try to grip you and strangle your plans? Every day and every moment, we decide if we are going to live by fear or by faith. There is the fear of failure, the fear of people, the fear of disaster, and the fear of fear. What are your most intense fears?

Fears do not usually just disappear by themselves. Sometimes we need to change some of our patterns of thinking, priorities, and spiritual habits. The key is to find and connect with the One who is greater than our fears. God heals. God gives courage, boldness, and love that exceeds our fears. What fears have you been able to conquer with God’s help? What fears still need more of God’s light?
