WEEPING

Read: Lamentations 2

Key Verse: “My eyes fail from weeping, I am in torment within, my heart is poured out on the ground because my people are destroyed, because children and infants faint in the streets of the city.” - Lamentations 2:11

When was the last time you wept? What was the reason? Have you ever seen people destroyed? This destruction can happen in war, in disease, in poverty, in holocaust, in despair, in addictions, in murder, in abortion, in suicide, in human trafficking, or in spiritual emptiness. The tragedies in our day should cause us to weep with a heart of compassion. We should be moved to help and make a difference, offering hope and solutions.

What are the conditions for the next generation? Are we leaving this earth a better place than when we arrived? Are we protecting and providing for the littlest ones? What is God asking you to do? Be careful that you do not slide into indifference or hopelessness. Jesus is moved when He sees pain and injustice. God will guide you and use you in wonderful ways. Weep but then listen for your assignment!
