A TENT

Read: Psalm 104

Key Verse: “He wraps Himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent.” - Psalm 104:2

When you go camping, are you the one who usually assembles the tent? What is the biggest tent you have raised? Has wind or rain ever knocked down your tent? The work of God’s hand is evident in the celestial realm. Part of the joy of sleeping outside is to look up and admire what God has created. Look beyond the miniature tent you have put together, and appreciate the massive covering your Maker has designed.

This verse refers back to creation: God spoke and there was light (day 1) and God created the heavens (day 2). The luminaries that give us light also direct our attention to God’s heavenly abode. There is no darkness with the Lord, and He sustains everything we have. Creation is made through God’s power, but you are made in God’s image. You are more valuable than even the sun, moon, and stars.
