TO THE ALTAR

Read: Psalm 43

Key Verse: “Then will I go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise You with the harp, O God, my God.” - Psalm 43:4

An altar is a place where sacrifice happens as God is honored. An altar is a place where praise happens as God is celebrated. An altar is a place where confession happens as God is worshiped. An altar is a place where surrender happens as God is trusted. An altar is a place set apart to seek God. Most importantly, an altar is a place where an intimate relationship with God happens.

The psalmist praises God with a harp. Today, not many people play the harp. You can praise God with whatever you have: a song, a prayer, a shout of praise, a thanksgiving, an instrument, a song on the radio, a choir, a lifting of your hands, or a dance. Find a place where you can meet with Jesus now. Take delight in God. Worship Him in joy. He is your God, and you are made to freely praise Him!
