NO SLANDER

Read: James 4

Key Verse: “Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it.” - James 4:11

Someone made the statement recently: “I do not talk about people when they are not in the room.” He inserted a healthy boundary that put an end to the possibility of gossip and slander. It takes courage to redirect a conversation. People may not include you on as many of their conversations because they know you stand for integrity. True humility does what is right, regardless of the cost.

Think about these questions:

  1. Who tries to involve you in gossip and slander?
  2. What is a reasonable way to set a boundary with them?
  3. What is the benefit of ending a slanderous conversation?
