Read: Psalm 55

Key Verse: “I said, ‘Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.” Psalm 55:6

Airlines like to mention getting away in their advertisements. Who does not want to leave their challenges and land in a comfortable chair, on a sunny beach, with a refreshing drink and lots of free time? And, of course, WiFi access will be there too. What is weighing you down?

We need discernment when to stay in our trials and when to leave. Leaving a job, a dating relationship, an unhealthy church, a draining friendship, a dangerous situation are all decisions that we need God’s wisdom and timing. When you have the urge to depart, make sure God is releasing you. At the end of our days, we will fly away into glory. For now, we need to make sure we are in step with the Spirit.
