MY FRIEND

Read: Song Of Songs 5

Key Verse: “His mouth is sweetness itself; he is altogether lovely. This is my lover, this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.” - Song Of Songs 5:16

Friendship is the basis for a good marriage. The quality of the friendship determines the quality of the marriage. Friendships are strengthened through words. Consider these important aspects of your speech: 1) Do you show respect when you talk  2) Do you have a good sense of judgment and timing? 3) Do you encourage often? 4) Are your words spiritually uplifting? 5) Are you humble in your communication?

A prayer for today: “Father God, thank you for the friendships you have given me! Let my mouth speak truth and love with the people I care about and know well. Let me not shrink back from speaking your praise and anything that is beneficial to the listener. Forgive me for being impatient, selfish, and defensive with my speech. May my reactions to the situations I will face today reflect Your heart. Please help me to encourage more people and more often instead of being so reserved with the opportunities you have given me. I pray this all in Jesus’ name, amen.”
