MOVING PAST FEAR

Read: Ezra 3

Key Verse: “Despite their fear of the peoples around them, they built the altar on its foundations and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning and evening sacrifices.” - Ezra 3:3

The priests built an altar to make sacrifices as they wanted to honor what was written in the Law of Moses. They celebrated the feast of tabernacles, and continued to have burnt offerings in the morning and the evening. They established a routine of obedience before the temple was built. One of their biggest obstacles was fear of the people around them. Would there be persecution, intimidation, threats, rejection, and ridicule?

Many Christians try to keep their faith hidden and private even though Jesus said to publicly acknowledge Him and let your light shine. Many Christians do not share their faith, even though Jesus said to go make disciples. Does fear hold you back from living out your faith? In some countries there is physical persecution but in other places it is mainly social insults. Ask God to give you a boldness that is greater than your fears. Decide to not hold back your worship and obedience any longer. God will help you complete what He is asking you to do today.
