Read: Psalm 44
Key Verse: “It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your face, for You loved them.” - Psalm 44:3
An athlete points to his name on the back of his jersey. The entertainer flexes his muscles and kisses them. The politician talks about his incredible strategy. The general boasts about his courage. The lawyer gives all of the credit to his wisdom. The researcher compliments technology. The doctor exalts the medication. The manager gives the credit to his training. The author compliments her own book. Who gives the glory to God?
So many people live in an illusion. Instead of acknowledging the source of all gifts, opportunities, and goodness; they prefer to glorify the recipient. The Bible tells us that all victories are given because God loves us and He showers us with His grace. Don’t reject, ignore, overshadow, explain away, steal, minimize, or mock the reason for your success. Be humble and be real.
