DEPTHS OF THE SEA

Read: Micah 7

Key Verse: “You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.” - Micah 7:19

Micah finishes the book with a resounding message of hope. This shining light is found in God’s character. Micah describes God: He delights to show mercy, pardons sins, forgives transgressions, does not stay angry forever, and shows mercy. Who would not want to turn to and worship this God? Why not receive pardon from Him? Do you need to confess any sins right now as God is gracious and hears your prayer?

When God forgives, your sins are genuinely and completely pardoned. Hurled into the depths of the sea means your sins are buried forever in God’s great grace. Many people have said that there is also a sign next to the sea that says ‘No fishing’. You do not need to heap on your own guilt and shame-God frees you from that too! He forgives and gives you a new start and new direction! Claim this verse and promise when you are tempted to replay the old movies of your previous failures. Praise God for all that He has forgiven!
