God is Our Refuge

May 16, 2013

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” - Psalms 46:1

God is our refuge, our place of rest and refreshment in the thick of hardship. Unlike others who often turn away during our time of trouble, God actually invites us to step into His safety and protection. We don’t have to buckle. We don’t have to panic. We do not need to look for an escape in the wrong places. We can run into the arms of God, and find a hiding place where our emotions and spirits are nurtured.

Taking refuge “in Christ,” is committing your problem to Him to solve. God cares for you, enough so, that He is more than willing to help you deal with your problems. When you give your cares to Him, you are stepping into the shadow of the Almighty, drawing near to God. This is no guarantee that your problems will end, but it will be your acknowledgment that you can trust Christ to lead you, protect you, keep you, and strengthen you.
