I Am A Church Member-My First Love-Part 1

May 13, 2015

Since we were children this is what we have learned, “God first, my family second, and I am third.” My friend, listen, you and I need to love God first and to love God supremely over every one and everything else.

As God’s children, we have to be careful because we can grieve and quench the Holy Spirit within us. I would say apart from a great awakening or a great revival to happen across our nation right now, Christianity is grieved and quenched because of this world’s system that we are in now. There is a quenching and grieving of the Spirit of God that is holding back what God would do through the child of God.

This happens because we do not make God our first love. We love many other things other than God. We may go to church every Sunday, we may visit the sick in hospitals and nursing home, and we can even hand out tracts to others. So how has this happened? My friend, we lose our first love when we lose our daily awareness of our need for God moment-by-moment and day-by-day. We can do all these things, which are good things to be doing, for the satisfaction of man, not because we love God.
