Genuine Humility-Part 1

March 18, 2015

Romans 12:2“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Paul here is talking to believers and he is telling us that our minds have to be renewed. He is talking to those who have been born again. My friend, it should be our desire to always be spending time in the Word of God and opening ourselves up to the Spirit of God, knowing that the Holy Spirit, with the Word of God is renewing our minds because we were born in Adam. We still have tendencies to think and feel like Adam, and there is only one way, my friend, that this is pushed off of you and me and that is the same way the leaves on the trees drop to the ground. This is not so much by the wind, but by the new life in the tree that is pushing off the old and when spring comes, we will see the growth of new leaves. When you and I choose to read God’s Word, and be in Sunday school under the instruction of God’s Word, getting up each morning and having a quiet time, being a part of a Bible study that God may lead us to, what will happen is this, your mind is gradually and continuously being renewed. This pushes off those old things that can be traced back to the fact that we were born in Adam.
