Starting Over With God-Part 11

March 17, 2014

Bertha Smith, a missionary from China gave this godly advice when you find yourself tired, complacent, just worn out and you think you cannot go anymore, she said, “go back to those first things. Read those Bible verses that really speak to you and read those devotional books that really inspired you…go back to those first things.”

So, the question is this? Though I cannot change the past, how can I make lasting changes? How can I simply start over with God?

  • Confession – just stop and agree with God that you have messed things up and that it is rooted in your lack of faith in Him
  • Determination – Not in the flesh but in the Spirit.  Be determined to act on the nudging of the Holy Spirit that you feel to step out and do things that you may feel uncomfortable doing, doing it by faith.

When we do this the excitement comes back, the desire to walk in the Spirit and to be used by God comes back and there is a joy and a peace that passes all understanding even when you are physically and emotionally drained, God will continue raising you up exciting you, teaching you new things, and your faith will not waver it will be steadfast and you will just keep going forward determined in faith.
