The Person That God Uses-Part 4

June 22, 2015

1 Corinthians 15:10“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

If we are going to be a person that God uses, we not only ask God to search our heart, but we must also be willing to surrender our will to God’s will. If we’re going to have a responsive heart to God, we must be determined that our human wills are surrendered to God’s will.

You see our character is developed fully by the power of God’s grace, which works within us in the person of the Holy Spirit. There is a conscious decision that we must make to bring our mind, heart, and actions in line with God’s will.  Remember what Jesus said to God in the Garden of Gethsemane:

Luke 22:42  - “ saying, Father…nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

We are to talk to God the exact same way that God the Son talked to God the Father. Father, I want to be a person that you use, so search my heart. We must be willing to say, “Father, I choose to surrender my human will to Your will, that I may operate by Your grace and by the power of the Holy Spirit so You can use me.” This is a conscious decision each of us must make to bring our mind, heart, and actions into alignment with God’s will.
