The Believer’s Consecration Of The Christ Life-Part 14

July 25, 2014

1 John 1:6If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.”

1 John 1:8– “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

1 John 1:10“If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”

My friend, what does your surrender look like? Is your surrender a complete surrender to God or are you just playing with surrender? When we choose to hold on to a besetting sin, we begin to lie to keep that sin covered. The danger is if we keep doing this long enough we begin to deceive ourselves and no longer see it as sin, and then we begin to lie to God. It is a dangerous thing to lie to God because He sees and knows everything; nothing can be hidden from Him. Deception is a slippery slope and if we are not careful we can find ourselves where we never expected to be, out of fellowship with God and feeling distant from God. So what is the answer if this is where you find yourself today? Simply turn back to God in complete surrender and ask Him to rescue you from your rebellion and to deliver you from the turmoil within. This is the God we wait for and this is the God we serve.
