Abiding Above Tension-Part 9

January 14, 2015

Abiding above tension will involve a life of peace. Philippians 4:7“and the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Notice the word heart? Notice the word mind? Notice where? My friend, it is all in Christ Jesus. We must remember there is peace with God that comes with salvation. The Bible teaches that you and I come into this world alienated from God, separated from God. So, the first thing we have to do is, we have to make peace with God, this speaks of salvation. Romans 5:1 – “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”

Notice the word ‘justified’, which means to be declared righteous. By faith, we have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. This is peace with God, but thank God He did not stop there, He did not leave us as orphans. He went to the Father and He sent us the Comforter…the Holy Spirit. So not only do you have peace with God, but you also have the peace of God. His very presence within you! This peace, my friend, is a fruit of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
