Instant Sanctification

February 27, 2014

God says in 1 Corinthians 6:11 – “But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”

The very moment a person receives Christ as his Savior, he is washed from his sins; he is justified before God; he is sanctified; he is born into the family of God.

The moment we are sanctified, we step over the line from lost to saved. We are saved from the penalty of sin and eternal separation from God.  Every saved person is a sanctified person, a saint!

Listen carefully!  Saints are not canonized by mere man after they have died. It is not scriptural for man to play God and declare someone who is deceased a saint in some kind of formal church procedure.

Your pastor, or priest, who may lead you in worship in a church setting, is equal with you in your position in Christ. Not better, not more, but the same, in Christ Jesus. Yes, he has been called to serve God in a special way but he is equally a saint right along with you. Every sinner becomes a saint the moment he is sanctified, this happens simultaneously with salvation.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1:2 – “To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus…”

Ephesians 1:1 – “Paul speaks to the saints who are in Ephesus…”

Notice these verses are speaking of saints on earth, and none were perfect people. They were saved people.

My friend, if you are truly saved, you are sanctified, and a saint! You have been listening to Saint Chris encouraging Saint You!
