He's Coming To Take Us Home
by Berni Dymet

John 14:1-3  "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.

Some days - it's hard to get focused on the end game. Days when life's scary, when we feel threatened, or tired or lonely or worn out or …

Right there in that place - man it's hard to find the faith you thought you once had...

That's how Jesus' disciples felt when He was about to be crucified and what He said to them was something like this:

Guys - I know it's going to be hard.  But don't worry.  I'm going ahead of you to prepare a place for you in my Father's house and just at the right time, I'll come back to get you.

A friend of mine is close to dying of cancer right now.  How hard it must be to find your faith in that place.  And yet - that's the place the disciples were in - they were afraid for their very lives.

And Jesus said - don't be afraid - just at the right time, I'm coming to bring you home. Jesus.
