Charles Borromeo (1538 to 1584)

Charles Borromeo was born in Arona, Italy. A leader in the counter Reformation, he implemented the reforms of the Council of Trent and founded the Oblates of St. Ambrose (an order of secular priests that offer themselves for any duty that a bishop may assign), as well as serving as the Archbishop of Milan.

Hannah Adams (1755 to 1831)

First American woman to live by her pen.

1755 Hannah Adams was born in Medfield, Massachussets. Hannah was the first American woman to make her living wholly by writing. Among her many religious works was Truth and Excellence of the Christian Religion.
