Birth of Howard Atwood Kelly, the prominent surgeon who was one of the original Johns Hopkins Four and renowned around the world for his achievements. He was gynecological surgeon at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore 1899-1919. He also founded Kensington Hospital in Philadelphia, and was a pioneer in the radium treatment of cancer. But above all that, he was a devoted Christian, a believer with a ready testimony, and a clear witness for his Lord. He published over 500 scientific articles, and numerous books, including many designed to strengthen the Christian faith.
