Usually my quiet time with God includes the reading of a biblical passage or a chapter in a devotional book. That is followed by a prayer tied to that particular reading, asking God to help me live my faith more authentically.
This morning I simply lay silently, praying for His direction in this day. The refrain of a gospel song, which is based on a particular scripture, kept coming to mind: "Oh taste and see that the Lord is good."
I prayed that God will help me to always see and appreciate Hiis goodness - in my work, while raising my children, when I'm simply enjoying a beautiful day.
My thoughts turned to a meeting I recently attended during which the leader of a faith-based organization asserted that anything Christians want or need to impact the world is at our fingertips. The primary criterion, he said, is to enlarge our vision.
We must close our eyes to obstacles clearly in our path and see like God, who can make the impossible possible, who can do anything but fail.
Psalm 34:8
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
