The Righteous and the Ungodly

11 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked , Nor stand in the [1] path of sinners , Nor sit in the seat of scoffers ! 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord , And in His law he meditates day and night . 3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by [2]streams of water , Which yields its fruit in its season And its [3]leaf does not wither ; And [4]in whatever e he does , he prospers .

4 The wicked are not so , But they are like chaff which the wind drives away . 5 Therefore e the wicked will not stand in the judgment , Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous . 6 For the Lord [5] knows the way of the righteous , But the way of the wicked will perish .

The Reign of the LORD's Anointed

21 Why are the nations in an uproar And the peoples devising a vain thing ? 2 The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers take counsel together Against the Lord and against His Anointed , saying, 3 "Let us tear their fetters apart And cast away their cords from us!" 4 He who sits in the heavens laughs , The Lord scoffs at them. 5 Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury , saying, 6 "But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion , My holy mountain ."

7 "I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord : He said to Me, 'You are My Son , Today I have begotten You. 8 'Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance , And the very ends of the earth as Your possession . 9 'You shall break them with a rod of iron , You shall shatter them like earthenware e .' "

10 Now therefore, O kings , show discernment ; Take warning , O judges of the earth . 11 Worship the Lord with reverence And rejoice with trembling . 12 Do homage to the Son , that He not become angry , and you perish in the way , For His wrath may soon be kindled . How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

The Inhabitants of God's Holy Hill

151 O Lord , who may abide e in Your tent ? Who may dwell on Your holy hill ? 2 He who walks with integrity , and works righteousness , And speaks truth in his heart . 3 He does not slander with his tongue , Nor does evil to his neighbor , Nor takes up a reproach against his friend ; 4 In whose eyes a reprobate is despised , But who honors those who fear the Lord ; He swears to his own hurt and does not change ; 5 He does not put out his money at interest , Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent . He who does these things will never e be shaken .

A Cry of Anguish and Song of Praise

221 My God , my God , why have You forsaken me? Far from my deliverance are the words of my groaning . 2 O my God , I cry by day , but You do not answer ; And by night , but I have no rest . 3 Yet You are holy , O You who are enthroned upon the praises of Israel . 4 In You our fathers trusted ; They trusted and You delivered them. 5 To You they cried out and were delivered ; In You they trusted and were not disappointed . 6 But I am a worm and not a man , A reproach of men and despised by the people . 7 All who see me sneer at me; They separate with the lip , they wag the head , saying, 8 "Commit yourself to the Lord ; let Him deliver him; Let Him rescue him, because He delights in him." 9 Yet You are He who brought me forth from the womb ; You made me trust when upon my mother's breasts . 10 Upon You I was cast from birth ; You have been my God from my mother's womb .

11 Be not far from me, for trouble is near ; For there is none to help . 12 Many bulls have surrounded me; Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me. 13 They open wide their mouth at me, As a ravening and a roaring lion . 14 I am poured out like water , And all my bones are out of joint ; My heart is like wax ; It is melted within me. 15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd , And my tongue cleaves to my jaws ; And You lay me in the dust of death . 16 For dogs have surrounded me; A band of evildoers has encompassed me; They pierced my hands and my feet . 17 I can count all my bones . They look , they stare at me; 18 They divide my garments among them, And for my clothing they cast lots . 19 But You, O Lord , be not far off; O You my help , hasten to my assistance . 20 Deliver my soul from the sword , My only life from the power of the dog . 21 Save me from the lion's mouth ; From the horns of the wild oxen You answer me.

22 I will tell of Your name to my brethren ; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You. 23 You who fear the Lord , praise Him; All you descendants of Jacob , glorify Him, And stand in awe of Him, all you descendants of Israel . 24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted ; Nor has He hidden His face from him; But when he cried to Him for help , He heard . 25 From You comes my praise in the great assembly ; I shall pay my vows before those who fear Him. 26 The afflicted will eat and be satisfied ; Those who seek Him will praise the Lord . Let your heart live forever ! 27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord , And all the families of the nations will worship before You. 28 For the kingdom is the Lord'S And He rules over the nations . 29 All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship , All those who go down to the dust will bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep his soul alive . 30 Posterity will serve Him; It will be told of the Lord to the coming generation . 31 They will come and will declare His righteousness To a people who will be born , that He has performed it.

The LORD Is My Shepherd

231 The Lord is my shepherd , I shall not want . 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures ; He leads me beside quiet waters . 3 He restores my soul ; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake . 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death , I fear no evil , for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff , they comfort me 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies ; You have anointed my head with oil ; My cup overflows . 6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life , And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever e .

The King of Glory

241 The earth is the Lord'S , and all it contains , The world , and those who dwell in it. 2 For He has founded it upon the seas And established it upon the rivers .

3 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord ? And who may stand in His holy place ? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart , Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood And has not sworn deceitfully . 5 He shall receive a blessing from the Lord And righteousness from the God of his salvation . 6 This is the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face -even Jacob . Selah .

7 Lift up your heads , O gates , And be lifted up, O ancient doors , That the King of glory may come in! 8 Who is the King of glory ? The Lord strong and mighty , The Lord mighty in battle . 9 Lift up your heads , O gates , And lift them up, O ancient doors , That the King of glory may come in! 10 Who is this King of glory ? The Lord of hosts , He is the King of glory . Selah .

God Is the King of All the Earth

471 O clap your hands , all peoples ; Shout to God with the voice of joy . 2 For the Lord Most High is to be feared , A great King over all the earth . 3 He subdues peoples under us And nations under our feet . 4 He chooses our inheritance for us, The glory of Jacob whom He loves . Selah .

5 God has ascended with a shout , The Lord , with the sound of a trumpet . 6 Sing praises to God , sing praises ; Sing praises to our King , sing praises . 7 For God is the King of all the earth ; Sing praises with a skillful psalm . 8 God reigns over the nations , God sits on His holy throne . 9 The princes of the people have assembled themselves as the people of the God of Abraham , For the shields of the earth belong to God ; He is highly exalted .

The God of Sinai and of the Sanctuary

681 Let God arise , let His enemies be scattered , And let those who hate Him flee before e Him. 2 As smoke is driven away , so drive them away ; As wax melts before e the fire , So let the wicked perish before e God . 3 But let the righteous be glad ; let them exult before God ; Yes, let them rejoice with gladness . 4 Sing to God , sing praises to His name ; Lift up a song for Him who rides through the deserts , Whose name is the Lord , and exult before Him. 5 A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows , Is God in His holy habitation . 6 God makes a home for the lonely ; He leads out the prisoners into prosperity , Only the rebellious dwell in a parched land .

7 O God , when You went forth before Your people , When You marched through the wilderness , Selah . 8 The earth quaked ; The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God ; Sinai itself quaked at the presence of God , the God of Israel . 9 You shed abroad a plentiful rain , O God ; You confirmed Your inheritance when it was parched . 10 Your creatures settled in it; You provided in Your goodness for the poor , O God . 11 The Lord gives the command ; The women who proclaim the good tidings are a great host : 12 " Kings of armies flee , they flee , And she who remains at home will divide the spoil !" 13 When you lie down among the sheepfolds , You are like the wings of a dove covered with silver , And its pinions with glistening gold . 14 When the Almighty scattered the kings there, It was snowing in Zalmon .

15 A mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan ; A mountain of many peaks is the mountain of Bashan . 16 Why do you look with envy , O mountains with many peaks , At the mountain which God has desired for His abode ? Surely the Lord will dwell there forever . 17 The chariots of God are myriads , thousands upon thousands ; The Lord is among them as at Sinai , in holiness . 18 You have ascended on high , You have led captive Your captives ; You have received gifts among men , Even among the rebellious also , that the Lord God may dwell there. 19 Blessed be the Lord , who daily bears our burden , The God who is our salvation . Selah . 20 God is to us a God of deliverances ; And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death . 21 Surely God will shatter the head of His enemies , The hairy crown of him who goes on in his guilty deeds .

22 The Lord said , " I will bring them back from Bashan . I will bring them back from the depths of the sea ; 23 That your foot may shatter them in blood , The tongue of your dogs may have its portion from your enemies ." 24 They have seen Your procession , O God , The procession of my God , my King , into the sanctuary . 25 The singers went on, the musicians after them, In the midst of the maidens beating tambourines . 26 Bless God in the congregations , Even the Lord , you who are of the fountain of Israel . 27 There is Benjamin , the youngest , ruling them, The princes of Judah in their throng , The princes of Zebulun , the princes of Naphtali . 28 Your God has commanded your strength ; Show Yourself strong , O God , who have acted on our behalf. 29 Because of Your temple at Jerusalem Kings will bring gifts to You. 30 Rebuke the beasts in the reeds , The herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples , Trampling under foot the pieces of silver ; He has scattered the peoples who delight in war . 31 Envoys will come out of Egypt ; Ethiopia will quickly stretch out her hands to God .

32 Sing to God , O kingdoms of the earth , Sing praises to the Lord , Selah . 33 To Him who rides upon the highest heavens , which are from ancient times ; Behold , He speaks forth with His voice , a mighty voice . 34 Ascribe strength to God ; His majesty is over Israel And His strength is in the skies . 35 O God , You are awesome from Your sanctuary . The God of Israel Himself gives strength and power to the people . Blessed be God !
