Is homosexuality acceptable to God?

Ron Rhodes

Reasoning from the Scriptures Ministries

By no means. The Bible emphatically states that “neither fornicators ... nor homosexuals ... will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9 NKJV). The Scriptures repeatedly and consistently condemn homosexual practices (see Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26). God loves all persons, including homosexuals, but He hates homosexuality. The Bible condemns all types of forni

cation—which would therefore include homosexuality (Matthew 15:19; Mark 7:21; Acts 15:20,29; Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Hebrews 13:4).

I believe condemning other people for being who they are is hypocritcal and judgmental, both sins as bad as homosexuality in the eyes of God. It's hypocritical in the way that we are all sinners and we in no way have the right to condemn others for what we have all done. We can't forget- "He who is without sin cast the first stone."
It's judgmental because the stereotypical Christian treats homosexuals (or as they call them, SINNERS,) as dirt unrightfully priding themselves as not being "one of those dirty rotten sinners". Which is a sin in itself having condescending pride. So if anything, those condemning any one (including homosexuals) who sins is worse than the sinners themselves because they have their previous sins and their sins (jugmentality and hypocricy) that are as bad as homosexuality on top of that.

Furthermore, this being said, it is not just homosexuality that can be wrong, it is heterosexuality as well.

Just like everything in life can be abused or tainted, so can sexuality. I believe, if we LOVE eachother, regardless of race, class, height, hair color, GENDER/SEX, etc, then this is ok. After all, sex is designed to be an act or expression of love for one another, as well as to pro-create.

If we are not to judge on the physical, which will one day pass, and to fall in love with the WHO the person actually is inside, why does it matter if they have a piece of flesh or not. It seems to trivial to me.

Regarding these statements:

"God loves all persons, including homosexuals, but He hates homosexuality. The Bible condemns all types of fornication—which would therefore include homosexuality."

I realize the scriptures on homosexuality. But here is something to point out. God does not say it is wrong to love another man as one does a woman...He does say it is wrong to lay with another man as one does a woman (Leviticus).
Also in Romans, it says it is wrong for a man to lust after another man.

In both these instances, homosexuality aside, it is STILL wrong. It is wrong to lay with someone, in context of the scripture, I believe it is more sexually inclined, if you are not married or spiritually joined. This is defined as a sin and in Fornication.

Also according to Romans, it is wrong for men or women to lust after the same sex. Well, doesn't the Bible state it is wrong to LUST after anyone? Lust is of the flesh and driven by sin, not love.
