Phillip Johnson: Weakening Faith in Darwin

Salem Radio Commentary

After generations of nearly unfettered success in our educational system, the advocates of Darwinian evolution are starting to feel the cracks in the theory that has been taught to millions of school children as unquestioned truth.

Our educational system has long presented Darwinism—not only as science, but really more as a system of faith, an appeal to the imagination, promoting the worship of science and all of its worldview implications.

At last, youth in our public schools are gaining an opportunity to learn about the weaknesses of the theory. Thanks in significant part to the work of the Discovery Institute, the state of Ohio has adopted a new education standard that provides for “critical analysis” of evolution.

The Ohio decision may well be an indicator of things to come, as more people come to grips with an evolutionary system that is crumbling, incapable of adequately explaining grandeur of life, especially human life and our splendid created order.

I’m Phillip Johnson.
