Are there spiritual ways to relieve stress?

Chuck Swindoll

Insight for Living

Jesus says, "Come to Me. Take My yoke. Learn of Me" (Matthew 11:28-30). Here we find the connection between obedience and rest. Christ’s yoke turns out to be light—obeying Him is not a heavy load. Why? Because when we really know Him, we will follow Him gladly. Christ invites us to enter into a loving relationship with Him, thus bypassing the stress that comes from perfectionism and false guilt.
Relief from stress is not automatic—it requires coordinating the demands of your body, mind, and spirit. May our God be allowed entrance into your mind and be given the reins of your life so completely that your stress is replaced with peace and faith.

This is so true! Because before giving my life completely to God, the load was too heavy for me. I was weighed down, always worried, full of anxiety, so full of stress I was overwhelmed that I couldn't enjoy life, my kids, my family and how beautiful life was each second, each day and how much I had to be grateful for, but God turned all that around, he has took over that load, now I give it all to God and what God has given me back is something I would of never experienced if I would of never let go. So now I tell everyone that I meet or know who I see me in them before, I tell them to give it to God, to let go and to get closer to God and see what God will do for them Magda Navarro.
